Title: Night Under The Sun by Formegil
Rated: Mature [Reviews - 9]
Summary: During a visit to Emyn Arnen, a remark from Pippin awakens a decades-old memory in Aragorn's mind. During the evening he tells the tale to his friends: During Aragorn's years as Thorongil, Steward Ecthelion has commissioned him as a lieutenant in a battalion posted at a small town. One night the corsairs of Umbar attack and drag a friend of Aragorn's away as a prisoner. Shortly afterwards Aragorn is sent on a mission to spy on the doings of the Haradians. Aragorn now has a twin goal: to complete his mission and to free his friend.

Journeying ever farther into the south, Aragorn gets wind of a mysterious buyer of slaves deep in the jungles near the Girdle of Arda. He proceeds to investigate the matter, in hopes of finding his friend and learning what the persons in question are up to. However, he soon finds that he has plunged into trouble that is easier to get into than to get out of. A deadly struggle follows, in which Aragorn is hard put to it to survive.

Rated Mature for violence and some horror themes.

I loved this story at Teitho. Congratulations on your well deserved win. It feels so very real.

I think you have a bit of a pasting problem as the disclaimer appears in the middle of the text. Scroll down and you'll see what I mean.

Author's Response: Ohhhh gosh -- so sorry about the delay in responding to your note here, it's been a bit crazy at my house lately. But thank you so much for your feedback - I'm thrilled to know Aragorn's response to his new/old home felt real. Ahhhhh - the posting problem. I keep forgetting when I copy and paste something, that it picks up everything! I had made notes for myself in regards to things I wanted to incorporate into the story and forgot to delete them from the file when I was done. And it did pick up those here. I've edited it to delete them now. Thank you for letting me know that as well!

Liv shares a psychic bond with Arwen as long as she remains in Middle Earth. This will result in some interesting plot twists.
