Oh no! I am hating on Malthador at the moment. But also......you know, Legolas should have picked this treatment of Elgalad up before now. I guess he didn't imagine it possible but I still think he should have done more investigating.

Will Tindomion work this one out? Will they get Elgalad back before he gets himself into serious trouble??
Shame on you Legolas! You should have paid more attention?

Title: ~ I Will Lead And Thou Shalt Follow ~ by Spiced Wine
Rated: Mature [Reviews - 20]
Summary:

~ It was said that Fëanor had little love for his half-brothers, yet Fingolfin followed him to betrayal and, ultimately, to death in single combat against Morgoth.

There were many lies handed down through the ages, and this lie covered something so forbidden and irresistible that no law could forbid it, neither could death or doom destroy it.

The Arc of Fire, the blazing thread connecting the houses of Fëanor and Fingolfin encompassed three generations and thousands of years. It began in Valinor, in the Years of the Trees.

This is a prologue to Magnificat of the Damned. Book I, and set within the Dark Prince verse.

Fëanaro's aura was hard and as brilliant as forge-heated gems.

“And wilt thou indeed follow me?” he whispered.

I see I will have to get to grips with all their alternative names. Because I have only just read the Silm and not many Silmarillion stories I really only know the Sindarin names and not all the others so sometimes keeping track of who was who was challenging!

Title: ~ Magnificat of the Damned. Book II. Resurrection ~ by Spiced Wine
Rated: Mature [Reviews - 96]
Summary:

At the end of the Third Age, Glorfindel and Vanimórë, son of Sauron, are the supreme Powers on Arda, having passed through Fos Almir, the Bath of Flame.

The mighty dead have returned, and Glorfindel leads the Noldor to a haven in the east of Middle-earth, which they call their New Cuiviénen. Fëanor, released from the Void, will rule there as High King.

But the ancient loves, hates and feuds of the Noldor have not dimmed or been forgotten with the ages, and their new life becomes a tinder-box of passion, pride and power. Ancient dooms and betrayals arise, and both new and ancient notes of the Great Music are played across the Fourth Age of Arda.

Oh! You surprised me with this. I did not see it coming. Celegorm and Finrod! But it makes perfect sense of Celegorm's actions, that bitter hate borne of rejection, nothing cuts deeper.

I REALLY want Finrod to Come back now. I did already but now even more so. But Celegorm hasn't forgiven him for......? Well, I don't think Finrod did that much wrong really. If anyone should understand not breaking an oath it should be Celegorm, and the fact Finrod was determined to sacrifice his own happiness so as not to hurt his father, again Celegorm should understand that. It was misguided but if anyone knows about misguidedly doing what your father wants it should be a Feanorian!

I want these two together and I think Finrod is ready to accept that side of himself now, but he is not ready to forgive Celegorm and Celegorm doesn't seem like he is ready to acknowledge the wrongness of what he did at all.
I am eager to see what happens. It will be rather a shock for Glorfindel who has his own Celegorm issues as well.

Author's Response: Thank you for commenting, Cheekybeak - well, since it is already written, I think you will not be too disappointed in what happens :)

Oh! You have me feeling so so sorry for Celegorm.......and I was not expecting that, I really wasn't. What great writing, you have completely swayed me. More convinced than ever these two have to get together!!

Aargh!!! I was right! ....... Finrod will save him.... Surely!
And I have to go and cook tea so I can't read any further. So cruel.
And why isn't Glorfindel answering?? Hopefully just temporarily distracted.

Author's Response: Glorfindel is momentarily distracted!

Reviewer: cheekybeak Signed
Date: April 15, 2015 Title: Chapter 58: Chapter 58 ~ The Treachery of Kin ~

OMG! Orodreth!? I had no inkling of this. You totally succeeded in distracting me with Borniven. I had forgotten Orodreth was even around let alone a traitor!

I like that Feanor has had his eyes opened here. His horror at the thought Maglor......and Maedhros still believe the silmaril to be more important to him than them. Who can blame them after the oath and everything that followed after.

I don't like Feanor. I am not sure if you want me to or not but he is too arrogant for me to like. His enjoyment at controlling others....
Perhaps this realisation of how his sons see him may improve that. Here's hoping because I would like to see him with Fingolfin properly but not quite as the person he is right now.

But then again..... I find I am quite liking the idea of Fingolfin and Maglor. Maglor needs someone. He has no one right now, Feanor just can't be his and Vanim

This came up as a random story and I am so glad it did!
I have been hanging out for something of how Legolas and Glorfindel get together and here it is......it was beautiful. I find these two very intriguing.

I have just started reading Magnificat II and am loving it, all the potential for political intrigue. The tension between Glorfindel and Feanor over Legolas....I wonder how that will develop.....I hope Feanor doesn't get his hands on Legolas, I know he is irresistible but Legolas is somehow different. I am hoping if Feanor turns his mind to possessing him he can withstand it. Time will tell,

And I was missing someone amongst your reborn elves. I was just thinking of leaving a review yesterday asking " Where is Finrod?" .....and here he is, it did seem strange he hadn't come back with the others but now I see why, issues with Celegorm and Curufin. I hope he finds a way to travel there soon though. I like him, Glorfindel needs him I think and tension between him and the Feanorians would be interesting to read!!

Author's Response: Oh, thank you, Cheekybeak :) Yes, I remember writing this and putting in more about Legolas and Glorfindel because there was not much written when I wrote this.

And I was missing someone amongst your reborn elves. I was just thinking of leaving a review yesterday asking " Where is Finrod?" .....and here he is, it did seem strange he hadn't come back with the others but now I see why, issues with Celegorm and Curufin

Well, I hope you will like it when he does come on the scene, because yes, he does. I don't know where you are up to yet, but it's definitely on the horizon :)

Title: ~ Magnificat of the Damned Book I: Starfall. ~ by Spiced Wine
Rated: Mature [Reviews - 127]
Summary:

Tears unnumbered they would shed, yet still they would live, and love and defy Darkness.
And they would die. Yet as Fëanor prophesied, their deeds would "be a matter of song until the last days of Arda."

The Arc of Fire, the blazing thread of forbidden love and desire which began with Fëanor and Fingolfin spanned three generations and thousands of years. I Will Lead and Thou Shalt Follow told of the birth of that passion. This story continues the Arc, telling of the ultimately doomed love between Fingon and Maedhros, Fingon's son Gil-galad and Tindómion, son of Maglor, in an Arda where the love of one's own gender was seen as an offense in the eyes of the the Valar – and punished by banishment into the Everlasting Dark.

"I, Tindómion Maglorion do so swear, sire." His voice shook a little. "My fealty and all my service is thine, Gil-galad of House Fingolfin. From now until the day of my death."

"Or mine," said Gil-galad, quite softly.

Ah so Glorfindel still bears some scars from his rape by Feanor, although he seems very conflicted by it. He does not love Feanor and yet he is almost entranced by him.
His desire not to be possessed by anyone seems like a deep subconscious barrier he maybe doesn't even understand fully himself.
I wonder if he gets over this before he gooks up with Legolas or is Legolas just happy being the submissive one ? I am looking forward to see how those two actually ended up

I have never understood how Aredhel ever ended up in Gondolin in the first place. It seems just a situation she would never have agreed to going to. Trapped in a city!

Author's Response: I think the same. It was the worse place for her really, but probably deemed to be the safest.
