I suppose they'd have a heart attack if I told them I'm writing fanfic in English these days. *g*

experience like you, Alpha, but with English: two English teachers told me I should try to get a job where I wouldn't need foreign languages as they judged me too little giftd in languages.

I was a maths teacher too! A really soul-destroying job sometimes, because many children arrived at school already afraid of the subject.

It is sad how a bad teacher can make a child's time at school a misery. When I was teaching I was very conscious that even the most casual, throwaway comment could wound.

I still remember my maths teacher. Pasty faced and smelled of onions. I was traumatised, especially when he told my parents the only thing I was good at was sports.

Most of my teachers were lovely - there were just a couple that were not nice.

I hate hearing about teachers who ruined a child's interest or confidence or curiosity- as a teacher myself, it actually hurts to think how someone has done that. It doesn't happen much now.

Ah! Here it is! Now I understand a bit more about Tindomion .

Author's Response: There is a lot more in Magnificat I, but in this I just wanted to put enough for people to basically know whom he was :) And thank-you again, for continuing to read and comment :) It is very much appreciated.

Oh no! I am hating on Malthador at the moment. But also......you know, Legolas should have picked this treatment of Elgalad up before now. I guess he didn't imagine it possible but I still think he should have done more investigating.

Will Tindomion work this one out? Will they get Elgalad back before he gets himself into serious trouble??
Shame on you Legolas! You should have paid more attention?

Title: ~ I Will Lead And Thou Shalt Follow ~ by Spiced Wine
Rated: Mature [Reviews - 16]
Summary:

~ It was said that Fëanor had little love for his half-brothers, yet Fingolfin followed him to betrayal and, ultimately, to death in single combat against Morgoth.

There were many lies handed down through the ages, and this lie covered something so forbidden and irresistible that no law could forbid it, neither could death or doom destroy it.

The Arc of Fire, the blazing thread connecting the houses of Fëanor and Fingolfin encompassed three generations and thousands of years. It began in Valinor, in the Years of the Trees.

This is a prologue to Lords Of The Light, and set within the Dark Prince verse.

Fëanaro's aura was hard and as brilliant as forge-heated gems.

“And wilt thou indeed follow me?” he whispered.

I have embarked upon your stories. I was unsure where to start so picked this one because you said. Chronologically it was first but also Encairion has me longing for more Feanor and Fingolfin and oh, this didn't disappoint! So Hot. They are an irresistible combination.

I see I will have to get to grips with all their alternative names. Because I have only just read the Silm and not many Silmarillion stories I really only know the Sindarin names and not all the others so sometimes keeping track of who was who was challenging!

I loved all of this. It has hooked me in already . I especially like the description of a sleeping F

Rated: Mature [Reviews - 86]
Summary:

At the end of the Third Age, Glorfindel and Vanimórë, son of Sauron, are the supreme Powers on Arda, having passed through Fos Almir, the Bath of Flame.

The mighty dead have returned, and Glorfindel leads the Noldor to a haven in the east of Middle-earth, which they call their New Cuiviénen. Fëanor, released from the Void, will rule there as High King.

But the ancient loves, hates and feuds of the Noldor have not dimmed or been forgotten with the ages, and their new life becomes a tinder-box of passion, pride and power. Ancient dooms and betrayals arise, and both new and ancient notes of the Great Music are played across the Fourth Age of Arda.

Reviewer: cheekybeak Signed
Date: April 08, 2015 Title: Chapter 26: Chapter 26 ~ How would it feel to lose him? ~

Oh! You surprised me with this. I did not see it coming. Celegorm and Finrod! But it makes perfect sense of Celegorm's actions, that bitter hate borne of rejection, nothing cuts deeper.

I REALLY want Finrod to Come back now. I did already but now even more so. But Celegorm hasn't forgiven him for......? Well, I don't think Finrod did that much wrong really. If anyone should understand not breaking an oath it should be Celegorm, and the fact Finrod was determined to sacrifice his own happiness so as not to hurt his father, again Celegorm should understand that. It was misguided but if anyone knows about misguidedly doing what your father wants it should be a Feanorian!

I want these two together and I think Finrod is ready to accept that side of himself now, but he is not ready to forgive Celegorm and Celegorm doesn't seem like he is ready to acknowledge the wrongness of what he did at all.
I am eager to see what happens. It will be rather a shock for Glorfindel who has his own Celegorm issues as well.

Author's Response: Thank you for commenting, Cheekybeak - well, since it is already written, I think you will not be too disappointed in what happens :)

Oh! You have me feeling so so sorry for Celegorm.......and I was not expecting that, I really wasn't. What great writing, you have completely swayed me. More convinced than ever these two have to get together!!

Author's Response: Ah, I love it when that happens - when my own passion shows in my writing, I mean :) Thank you so much for your comment! It is coming together - sort of!

And why isn't Glorfindel answering?? Hopefully just temporarily distracted.

Author's Response: Glorfindel is momentarily distracted!

Reviewer: cheekybeak Signed
Date: April 15, 2015 Title: Chapter 58: Chapter 58 ~ The Treachery of Kin ~

OMG! Orodreth!? I had no inkling of this. You totally succeeded in distracting me with Borniven. I had forgotten Orodreth was even around let alone a traitor!

I like that Feanor has had his eyes opened here. His horror at the thought Maglor......and Maedhros still believe the silmaril to be more important to him than them. Who can blame them after the oath and everything that followed after.

I don't like Feanor. I am not sure if you want me to or not but he is too arrogant for me to like. His enjoyment at controlling others....
Perhaps this realisation of how his sons see him may improve that. Here's hoping because I would like to see him with Fingolfin properly but not quite as the person he is right now.

But then again..... I find I am quite liking the idea of Fingolfin and Maglor. Maglor needs someone. He has no one right now, Feanor just can't be his and Vanim
