Big fan of LOTR and avid reader of fanfiction of various sorts and ratings.
I am also an amateur illustrator, some of my work can be found here.
Notably, I am currently working on a collection of illustrations inspired by "The Protege", an on-going AU series featuring Legolas and Glorfindel by Alpha Ori.

I read this story on FF.net, but it is with much pleasure that I am reading it again !
Thank you Veveco- I hope you'll enjoy the more mature version too- although it's nothing too extreme, its just a bit less self-censored than ffnet. You live in fear over there of the flamers and uber-right anti-everything wing over there!

"Glorfindel and Llyn were the object of much chatter as they made their entrance in the gardens below. They were stunning together, the Gondolin warrior attire never ceased to amaze the citizens of Imladris, albeit he had perhaps worn it but two or three times. Llyn wore a beautiful light purple dress, a simple circlet holding her long locks at bay to the side of her lovely face."
You know, I was re-reading the chapter to find some inspiration for the next illustration, and when I reached that part I was just thinking 'oh, crap - was Alpha already thinking about what happens in Horizon back then?' Hehe :)
Author's Response: Hehehe, well I did have plans for Llyn yes!! Oh I do wonder what you are going to concoct...

Hmm, it seems you have a few political intrigues in store for us then - interesting, especially Galadriel's reaction.
And Galdithion's opinion "yet Galadriel was too … purposefully enigmatic"... right on the mark! Hehe... (though I suppose we'll learn more of her point of view as the story progresses).
And, as always, pleasantly sensual...
Author's Response: It's so good to see you reading and reviewing here, and I really hope this story will inspire you with your artwork!! I did like that idea about Galadriel being needlessly mysterious, I mean for a ruler, that is probably a negative trait - although it does and will have its upside too. Pleasantly sensual? Yes, for the moment only however, things will heat up as the story progresses. Thank you, as always, my friend.
Date: August 04, 2012 Title: Chapter 3: Communication
Ah, Llyniel... Of all the people interested in the 'betrothed males' she is definitely the one I'm rooting for, since she seems to be such a loyal companion... At least, I hope her fate will not be a sad one because she is quite a likable character.
And as for Legolas, it seems his task is rather challenging !
Author's Response: Thanks, Veveco! Llyn's story will continue in the next chapter, but loving someone who loves someone else is never a good omen to future bliss...Legolas indeed, has his work cut out for him - the Galadhrim are no easy nut to crack when it comes to high kings, led as they are by Galadriel. Glad you enjoyed the chapter!
Date: October 14, 2012 Title: Chapter 5: Fleeting Perfection
Ah, well, those woodland royalties seem to leave a trail of broken hearts behind them! Llyn has a tough choice ahead of her, but can she truly guard her heart forever? Somehow I doubt it. And Arwen's feelings in the matter make the whole "Aragorn issue" rather intriguing... (though I guess we still have much time before that).
Anyway, thank you for yet another (very hot) chapter :)
Author's Response: Indeed my woodland beauties are utter heart-breakers!!Llyn has a very touch choice to make, and yet for her, the result is almost inevitable. Arwen's feelings will be a major issue a little later on in the story, yet not so far off. Remember, that Aragorn has already been born at this point, something I mention in Arcane Land. So another two or three years and Aragorn will come into the story, slowly at first. Glad you liked the chilli!!
Date: October 29, 2012 Title: Chapter 6: Liquid Onyx
Ah - you mean, mean author! Why did you have to stop on a little, cruel clieffhanger...?
Llyn finally confesses her feelings, which forces things to progress. Interesting that Legolas could not simply refuse, as he more or less did for Arwen, but then they have known each other for so long...
And the brawl with the Noldor - ah, men! ;) Legolas still has much work to win the heart of the other realms it seems...
Author's Response: Now, now, it's all Curious Wombat's fault - Seriously, though, Arwen was never an option and this will soon be further explained - but kings do need child-bearing consorts, and I am not into MPREG, so.... Keep reading!! Thank you, as always.
Date: November 08, 2012 Title: Chapter 7: Life at Least
Hmm, Galadriel is rather high-and-mighty in this part of the story... Not that I mind since elves are hardly perfect beings throughout their history. Quite another face of the lady that we see here.
And the part with Lynn made me smile. May she found a bit of happiness in this particular situation.
Author's Response: Yes, she is being very Noldorin princess here - however, the next chapter should help to endear her a little more, because things are about to change... Llynn - ah, poor tragic Llyn, indeed Gildor is in the same position in a sense, in love with the one he cannot have, well at least not body AND soul. Thanks for the review, you're a star :)
Date: February 16, 2013 Title: Chapter 11: Second Dawn of the Sylvans
Ah! Yes, a new chapter! :D
We can feel the pressure building up. Hopefully it will lead to a fantastic crowing ceremony! Interesting to investigate the various points of view of the different parties... I loved Dain's analysis "Look out for themselves and let the rest of Middle-earth seek its own security", yes it pretty much sums it all up, doesn't it? Interesting also to see Gondor's curiosity and Cirdan's near disinterest... Surely some opinions will change after the crowning?
Anyway, I can't for the big day, though I suppose you'll have to deal with all these people arriving in Lorien first perhaps? That means waiting more... Oh, well... ;)
Author's Response: You have it about right. Everything is leading up to the big day, one I find a daunting thing to write - perhaps my mind is subconsciously putting it off with excuses about having to write this or that!! Dain's realization really is the basis of this story - it is about making them all realize that alone, they have no chance against Sauron, they have to start seeing the picture under a very different light. Needless to say, it will be hopelessly AU, if you hadn't already noticed! I do believe that some will defiinitely change their minds after what Thranduil's folk have in mind... Thanks for reading!!!
Date: May 25, 2013 Title: Chapter 12: Splendour and Magnificence
A late review... But... have I told how much I love you? ;)
You know how much I like Thranduil's character, and I must say that I feel a bit spoiled by this chapter! Thank you for bringing him back in the story - though it was a bit implied previously. Of course, he *had* to make a grand entrance, didn't he? hehe...
More seriously, I like your approach of the 'Thranduil vs Elrond' aspect - not all 'flowery' and forgiving of the past nor full of blinding hate. Like two adults mindful of the past but willing to work together nevertheless.
And the part about Thranduil, Galadriel & Celeborn - that I did not see it coming. But, then, why not? I'm rather curious as to where that could lead.
Anyway, trying to find some inspiration for the next (and last for that part!) illustration of the Protege and waiting eagerly for the next chapter of Horizon!

New Chapter! They are called the Sons of Thunder for the violent revenge they wreak on the Orcs of the Mountains. But a messenger from Thranduil defies Elrohir's cruelty and it leads to simmering lust and dark conflict between Legolas and Elrohir on the banks of the Bruinen. Set between the Council of Elrond and the departure of the Fellowship.

Ah, poor Legolas... why is it that nearly every writer has him injured/tortured/poisoned? ;)
More seriously, it's good to have a new chapter! I like to see the friendship between Legolas and Gimli evolve, as well as this odd relation with Elrohir... Well written and as always full of tension!
It must be something about his perfect hair and wanting ot muss it all up!!!
Yes- those relationships- well I do like stories based on character and see what happens if we lob in a few Nazgul the odd ring, an Orc. You know, the usual.
Thank you Veveco. You know how encouraging it is to get reviews.

Thanks, Veveco! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Gimli was always one for getting the last word. He wasn't going to let something like death stop that from happening here :)
Thanks for taking the time to review :)

You know, I remember a review a while ago (Protege or AL, not sure anymore) where you said something like you were trying romantic scenes and hoped it came out alright... Well I don't think there is much "trying" anymore, romance does suit you very well. This is a very beautiful little piece! Thanks for sharing and happy holidays!
Author's Response: That was definitely AL, the chapter entitled 'Those Eyes' - you have a good memory!! As I said to Spiced Wine, I will be making up for the fluff with something a little more...explicit. Thanks for reading, now I am off to look at your latest installment of the illustrated series...

Legolas did not come to Imladris like the warrior of his people that he was,
but more like a prettily wrapped up present for the Peredhel´s daughter to play with.
His King ordered him to win the heart of the Evenstar,
but things don´t work out as expected...

Thanks for the review!

Glad to see an update!! Such an awkward situation for Legolas - between Erestor and people's opinion of his interaction with Arwen - and still Elrond and he can't keep their hands off each other like teenagers... The 'secret' won't be kept for long if they continue.
Thank you, my dear.
I´ll try to get the next chapter done as soon as possible, so you won´t have to wait too long.
The "Erestor-situation" will get clearer then, too.
In Legolas´ case he is barely more than a teenager here, so you can blame Elrond for not acting his age. ^^

Oh, oh... someone is in deep trouble! Though the pair had it coming, honestly...
Glad to see an update!
Thanks, my dear! Glad to know you are still following!
Yes, I don´t think it really surprised anyone that the two finally got caught (again).
I´ll try to update more regularly from now on, Real life has settled down again. ^^

Hmm... such a tease, you are! Oh, but I am so glad to see the next part of this saga! I was honestly surprised by the end of the last one (I didn't think it would end right after the crowning), so to see this is wonderful!
As for this teaser, I felt, somehow, there was smth rather sensual in her description... Perhaps because of the rich materials (silk, velvet). And I'm very curious about her identity...?
Author's Response: You know, I actually finished Horizon sooner than I had anticipated, and I have to admit that it was, at least partly, due to a lack of motivation to publish. In fact this intro was something of an experiement which I am glad to say has managed to give me back a little enthusiasm, so thanks for your unfailing contribution - your reviews mean a lot. No sensuality was meant actually, as the person in question is his.... eh, not gonna say it here, but another reviewer already has!
Date: March 27, 2014 Title: Chapter 8: The Elves are Come
"I was most fond of them."
That just made me laugh so hard! Ah, Legolas and his boots, a true love story...
More seriously, it seems that we are near a turning point in the story. I am curious to see how the meeting with the Dunadain will go.
If I remember correctly from the Protege (but that was a while ago so I might be wrong) Arathorn is still alive at this point. (Hmm, now I want to re-read Arcane Land & Horizon because I don't remember if there was another mention of the Dunadain?).
And the last sentence "the beginning of the end", I can't tell if is in a positive or negative way...
Author's Response: Ah, there wlll be more of Legolas and his beloved boots :) We are indeed, at a turning point when we will meet the Dunedain at last - indeed Arathorn knows Legolas, albeit not very well - he was in The Protege - at the ceremony in Imladris if you remember. The beginning of the end will be cleared up in the next chapter, when Zad will tell the tale of how the Dunedain suspected they were coming... I hope to have a new chapter out in a week or so - I am still tweaking :)) Thanks for the review, as always - ah - and hopefully I will be updating Horizon over the weekend with the new illustrations :)))
Date: June 01, 2014 Title: Chapter 11: Blind Faith
Haha, lovely interaction between Legolas and the young novice - hopefully this is not the end of it. Good to see the tension ease somewhat between our heroes and the rangers, but I'm really curious to see what sort of welcome awaits them at the camp. I hope the orc incident won't delay the meeting for too long.
Author's Response: The orc incident - um... coming soon :))Glad you liked Eldonar - there will be more of him in the coming chapters.
Date: June 16, 2014 Title: Chapter 13: To Comprehend the Unbelievable
Ah - I had missed this update! I am so pleased to have another chapter so soon.
Our little troop is being quite on their guards in this land of unknown - not that I blame them but it seems it will be long road before elves and men can truly trust each other and work together. Gildor seems to be evolving in a good manner at least.
On another note, the part about Glorfindel 'borrowing his own name' was funny. But that made me think, how will they react they are all high lords (well, save Gal)? I mean, they don't seem that impressed by Elladan's lineage, yet they would have reason to considering their chieftain's own origins...
Anyway, I can't wait for the meeting with Arathorn and little Aragorn... How will they 'connect' with the elves, and Legolas in particular? Intriguing perspectives...
Author's Response: Yes, on their guard indeed, as you will see iin the next chapter, coming right up. Gildor is indeed behaving himself, but he does not, as yet, consider himself fully redeemed... Thanks! Glad you saw the chapter before it summarily disappeared of the "latest" list - think it lasted about five minutes !!!
Date: July 14, 2014 Title: Chapter 16: The Council of Eriador
Oh, this chapter was very poignant. Until now we could feel the Dunandan skepticism and refusal of Aragorn's words, but this brings a whole new dimension. If Arathorn's death was foreseen, no wonder the man was reluctant to believe despite what he saw during Legolas' crowning.
Author's Response: Glad you liked it, it is so important for this Alliance to work. Without it, Legolas knows there is nothing to be done. Right now of course, he is not aware of what it is that makes Arathorn so strangely reluctant - he will find out though! Thank you for reviewing!!
Date: November 01, 2014 Title: Chapter 17: Nascent Alliance
Touching moment between Arathorn and his wife, but it does not bode well for him... it looks like his time is coming soon.
But of course our favorite elves would 'shine' in battle - love the detail about glorfindel's face showing more than a mere desire to protect his king by the way. It seems like there's nothing better than a good fight to bond with the 'base warriors' and earn their trust!
Author's Response: I love it when readers pick up on the subtelties!! Base warriors, eh? LOL My elves will always shine in battle. whether they always win, is more than debatable, though...
Date: November 01, 2014 Title: Chapter 18: Exodus
And Galdithion saves the day once again (or close enough) :) I suppose that Elladan and Legolas will have more time to settle their arguement once the crisis has passed.
