Thoughts on a Hard Fought Battle by Lifes Pilgrim

Story notes:
I originally wrote this after being betrayed by a co-worker who was arrested on child molestation charges and then had to fight those who would call themselves my friend while they put their own personal ambitions over the best interest of children placed in our care.

I had debated on reposting on this site, but the events in Norway helped me make my decision.

My heart goes out to those families.
Chapter notes:
I typically do not write poetry.
I have fought for many long months now.

Battered and bruised and weary, I now see the end of this conflict coming, oh so blessedly soon.

Orcs and trolls do exist on this modern day battlefield; they now have taken different forms from those of old.

They put on fair guises to cover their purpose and bring the unwitting to their side.

But I see them everyday in their true grotesque forms; they are strong, their spirits dark, but they have no hold on me.

The battle has raged day by day, some fights they prevail, sometimes I hold sway, protecting innocent souls from the harm they would cause.

Revenge on the pure of heart is their goal, deceit and lies their method.

Their evil has spread in many ways causing much harm, pain and grief. Yet those true of heart stand steadfast in the way.

The final battle will be coming soon, the righteous shall stand tall. For those who are true of heart know that good will win over all.
