Nursery poem of the Naugrim:
Here bound in Sirion’s vale,
Seven fair through winter’s bale,
From darkest lands,
North came winter’s night; Shadow walks thy forest blight,
Seven they were from Dwarven hall,
To dragons pyre they came to call,
In bitter cold and darkest hour,
Thagn stood the watch before the bower.
From westward sprang was Lady fair,
A queen of light and of care, she who bore upon her breast a babe,
In sweet repose, in quiet display, a child there was,
She who lay, a gem, a boon, a hearts delight,
Seven made father before the end of night.
