Oh, this is beautiful - the freshness of Scotland, the vivid clarity of the dreams that drifts away by daylight, the creeping air of delicate menace. I thought it was interesting that the way Claire thinks of the others seems to shift when "Mel" is around; when he's there, her mind emphasises their danger and hardness, and yet when they're there she behaves in a very familial way with them. And Rob Roi...that horse is magnificent, and you describe him so wonderfully.
Thank you, Narya -- I suspect there is some subterranean things going on with Claire -- not only Eru but different aspects of Claire, her blood, Vanimórë's that she is familiar with them, and it also could be her own determination to be 'normal' as long as she possibly can, and treat them normally. I expect I'll go into this a bit more going forward.
Rob Roi is lovely :D (I basically borrowed 'The Black' from Walter Farley's the Black Stallion book, lol, which I adored as a 'horsey' girl :D
I’m completely fascinated.
And then...should be the rest of the story hopefully :D
Thank you, Lilith :)
