The oranges of all things got to my heart, the bits about Nargothrond, Aglon and Valinor...
Author's Response: Oh, I'm glad you liked that detail! The strangest thing can set off a rush of memories, as the oranges did for Celebrimbor here. Thank you.
Marvellous and utterly gorgeous writing Narya!
Author's Response: Thank you so much, ziggy!
Really enjoyed this! I can definitely see how Annatar is subtly twisting Celebrimbor around his finger in this. One of the things I've always found interesting about Annatar is how all he has to do is place himself into a situation, and those around him are so easily manipulated. Sorry for the ramble, it probably doesn't make much sense ^__^''. Fantastic work :).
Author's Response: Thank you so much!! And you aren't rambling, it makes total sense. Annatar has a magnetism that even Celebrimbor, with all his strength, still ends up being drawn by.
The thaw will not be long now.” Annatar's breath clouded and wreathed about their heads. “The world will turn, and change again.” He turned, and traced one slender finger along Celebrimbor's jaw. Celebrimbor's blood sang; the frozen air heated and caught in his throat. He closed his eyes as Annatar leaned closer, and whispered words caressed his skin. “What will you do with this new world, child of Fëanor's line?”
And we know ;__; but it could have been so muhc more, and yet, beyond the seduction and the lies, it does feel as if Annatar did respect Celebrimbor.
Author's Response: I genuinely think Sauron *did* respect Celebrimbor, but other things mattered to him more; eventually Celebrimbor was an obstacle to Sauron, and...well, we know the rest. Thank you :)
