I read about Christopher Tolkien's death a couple of days ago. He lived to a ripe old age. Like King Théoden, of the cup of life he enjoyed a full measure.

Oh Vanimore- all that power and still lonely. So beautifully written theouhg, as always- just that sketching- so full of yearning and loss. But in another universe they must live? But different I suppose.

I am a bit confused about the death of the universe at the start- is that ME Universe or another alternate? I get that the one he is in now is ours, and I love the ramifications of the end of one travelling through ours in the guise of extreme weather, catastrophes etc - that gives it real credibility and makes it almost possible. I have a lot of reading to catch up on as I don't know Soren - so much to read, so little time!!

Lovely writing. I am always envious of how easily it seems to come to you. x

Author's Response:

Thank you, Ziggy.

The universe I was writing in in Magnificat, that was destroyed as was everyone in it, save for the few who were within the ‘monument’ which was Angband and Barad-dûr in the last chapter of Magnificat IV. Vanimórë did managed to save everyone’s souls and send them out into new universes. This story is specifically set within Verhalen’s Northern Lights series, although Vanimórë may appear later in Narya’s ‘Summerland’ too. This universe, and Narya’s hasn’t been destroyed, although they would have felt the echoes of the death of the other.

What Vanimórë does now in my own ‘verse is yet to be seen. :)  I have to finish ‘Genesis’ first.
