Re-reading again. I do so enjoy this :)
Yes, everyone in Maglor’s position should have a staunch ‘Fingon’ :)
It’s a good place to be for a moment, where no-one can bother them and Claire has time to think.
Author's Response: Aww, I'm so pleased :) and I was so happy to be able to give them that peaceful moment together at the end. I do love all the drama and emotional conflict of this arc, but I started writing Paradox in the first place because I wanted to explore their friendship, so it's always nice when I can let them breathe for a while and just be together. (And with what's going to hit them in the near future, they need the quiet time now...!)
Squee! I love it and to read it all in one now is amazing! I love how Claire is uncertain and worried, but she still (always) pushes on, needs to know and honestly, I laughed out loud when she says she would not have asked him about Vanimórë offering her immortality, and Maglor says she couldn’t have sounded more like Fingon if she tried. That’s true, too.
You write Coldagnir and Edenel so well, :) It’s lovely to see them in another ‘verse and yet themselves, too, and lol, none of them, including Maglor, able to be overlooked. But it’s lovely to see them in the Manse, and altogether, and supporting this revelation.
So in Venice when Claire’s eyes were dazzled, she thought Maglor looked like Vanimórë?
And yes, a lovely moment to end it, just to sit in front of the fire, the two of them, and digest things and relax for a little while.
I absolutely love this, and I am the one thanking you for wanting to pick this ‘verse up and run with it. :)
Author's Response: Oh, I'm so glad! Yes, she is a determined soul; she continuously surprises me. Every time I think she might break, she shrugs her shoulders and goes "Oh well - next problem!"
"I laughed out loud when she says she would not have asked him about Vanimórë offering her immortality, and Maglor says she couldn’t have sounded more like Fingon if she tried." - and that was utterly unintentional. The more I wrote in Paradox 'verse and in this one, the more she just behaved like him of her own accord. Stubborn, loyal, occasionally reckless. But it's what Maglor needs.
I adore Coldagnir and Edenel (well, you know that). I'm so happy you think I'm doing them justice; I love them interacting with Claire, and with this world's Maglor, and I really enjoy the dynamic between them all.
"So in Venice when Claire’s eyes were dazzled, she thought Maglor looked like Vanimórë?" - yep :D just for a moment, and she dismisses it quickly, but it's enough to plant a seed.
Thank you so much for all your support and kind words, I love writing in this 'verse!
