That last line is pretty chilling but you have never shied away from what they were, what they became. Wonderful to see these two worlds crossing over and now you have so many possibilities to write:)

I have to say on here as well how much I love this. I really, really like the relationship you draw out between them, and the way you weave in all the little things we've talked about, and the parallels between them. Her empathy, his honesty and respect for her, and the backdrop of the storm...it's all just utterly wonderful. And oh goodness, this part:

I don’t think he would see on Claire’s face anything he wouldn’t want to, but maybe Maglor at some point told him that when Claire knew who he (Maglor) was she almost didn’t come and see him, so perhaps he thought she would just walk away, but he wants to be entirely honest with her too.
