He kissed the palm of her hand – and there. There it was, that look she had longed for him to give her since they were children, but that until now he had only ever bestowed on their parents and on Fëanáro. His eyes met hers with a mingling of such love and deep respect that it was like a searing knife beneath her heart, and she leaned into him again, pressing her cheek against his shoulder. “I would not dream of it.”
Author's Response: Thank you, Ziggy! :) x
Aww, this was lovely.
I never think of Fingolfin as having sisters, but I only use the characters in the Silmarillion, in general. (Except Andreth, lately)
I am sure she will conquer as she has the same spirit is he, or he, her :)
Author's Response: Thank you! :) I am quite intrigued by the idea of Feanor, Fingolfin and Finarfin having sisters, and exploring how that affected the dynamics. I included Findis and Lalwen's children in Song for the Morning, partly because I wanted more Finweion cousins and some OC arcs to explore further down the line, but partly because I wanted to explore the sisters too. I like the idea of Lalwen/Irime having an active military role, although I haven't decided what I think of Findis, she isn't talking to me yet ;) and I do plan to write something about Faniel at some point too. You're right though, they all have that same fiery spirit - and it's in their children as well.
Sorry I'm late responding, it's been a manic week!
A Fingolfin fix. How wonderful.
Really lovely, Narya. OMG! I am such a fangirl of him and you wrote him beautifully.
Poor Lalwen. But I do love how you write them together. Lalwen who absolutely adores him and has only ever wanted the kind of attention he usually bestows on Feanor or, as you said, their parents. He almost treats her like you would think he treats Anaire. That same love and respect and something more to make her feel that much more special, but all done genuinely.
You've made him very magnetic and a little delicious. Listen to me. Any one would think he was real and I was the president of his fan club, lol.
A wonderful pick-me-up for the day. Thank you.
Author's Response: Thank you, Gabriel! I'm so glad you like Fingolfin, I do plan to write him more later.
"Any one would think he was real and I was the president of his fan club, lol." - What, you mean he isn't? And you aren't? ;)
Just wanted to say here as well how much I enjoyed this gem! :o)
Author's Response: Aww, thank you so much!
