Thank you, Alquien :) Unless we have to move to a new server, money is not a problem :)

Just now playing catch up here but anyway, count me in for a donation. I love this archive!

I think it’s important to keep these Tolkien specific archives going, especially with so many dying.

She’s quite willing to keep it hosted on the same server, just the admin/tech work would be done by someone else.

I don’t think we need to worry about the archive going, esteliel just thinks it would be better if someone acted as host/admin who was in the fandom.

I am mostly on AO3 but I like Faerie a lot better than FFnet to be honest, and the best reviews I ever got were on Faerie.

If you do, Ysilme, I will pass you email on to Esteliel :) You would make a great overall host for the archive.

I also might be able to help with the technical site of things. I'll send you a mail, Sîan, for details.

Well this is a charming encounter and I do hope you come back for more.

Author's Response:

Oh yes, I'll. I can't leave such an interesting setting alone for long, I promise

What a strange story! If there were two characters I never thought I would read about having a conversation these two would be it!!

You wrote Aragorn...I don't know why I am surprised at that, but I am. I spent a long time trying to figure out what time this was set in, (Aragorns time....not Maedhros') but it's obviously pre quest....right? Aragorn seems on the young side—and yet at the same time not young, if you know what I mean :-)

Sad that he never got to tell Maedhros who raised him... And that Elrond spoke of him with love.

Author's Response:

I admit that I got those two from my random prompts, which came up with Aragorn, Maedhros and faith vs doubt. It felt like it fit, even though they never met. It's rare that Elladan and Elrohir get to meet their grandfather(s). But Aragorn never does. Even though he's a Son of Elrond. And I don't think that Maedhros or Maglor would make a difference between them. They'd love him just as well and fiercly. Especially since Aragorn is young-ish in this fic. Past being Thorongil, supporting his own people but also still a little unsure of his place in the world. I see Aragorn as someone, who long stopped putting himself first, because there's always someone needing his help. Always someone depending on his strength.

In my eyes Aragorn and Maedhros have a lot in common, in their core personality.

And who know, I tagged this as a wip for a reason. Might write a second part one day.
