I registered just to tell you how happy I am to see you continue this story! This is one of my favorite fanfics ever :) I hope you'll write this story long enough for us to see Legolas and Thranduil reunited (been waiting so long for that). Can't wait for Federir to get that letter from Legolas. I'm really curious to see what Legolas has written.
thank you !! i'm really happy you have write another cap.
Ooh - interesting that Glaerwen seems to have inherited mysterious knowledge from her Silvan ancestors. I like the hint that the Silvans had their own royal line before Oropher's arrival - it's always interesting to see how others envisage the different layers of society in the Greenwood.
I'm glad you're continuing this. I do hope poor Legolas will have a change of luck soon. This tale s so heartbreaking.
This is a wonderful tale - you have so many plots weaving themselves around the central story line. What an amazing and interesting read - I am left on the edge of my seat after each chapter. I can't wait to read more.
his story is truly amazing
I do hope you have not abandoned this gem.
Please, please, please finish it Even if it takes you a while, I hope you do
Author's Response: Hi, mary_poppin. I just saw your comments. I definitely have not abandoned this story, however I have had a very difficult year and am just getting back to trying to write. I'm glad you like the story. I hope to have new chapters soon. Thank you.
Lovely chapter! Although the "communication" with Thranduil tore my heart out, it was beautifully written. Damn Menah for interrupting...
I have been really missing reading about Legolas and I hope the Lorien brothers are able to deliver his message soon, so there will be some movement in the storyline.
There is nothing more I hope for than a sappy as hell Happy Ending.
Author's Response: Thank you. I like happy endings too. I think I know pretty much how it will end, I just have to have Legolas find his way there through what will still be a very dark road for a while. Thanks again.
Hey you know what, forget lotr...change the names in this story and publish it as your own book ;)
It's perfect and the effect it has on the reader is just....oooof
Author's Response: Thank you Mirkwood...I've always had aspirations of publishing my own books and an unfinished fantasy trilogy I never seem to be able to get back to. It's high fantasy meets "I Claudius," meets epic Japanese period drama (which I grew up watching). Anyway, for now, I'm glad you're enjoying my little side hobby. Thanks for the r and r...
hi, thank you very much. i really love your haldir, it's so sweet! i'cant wait for next chapter.
Author's Response: Thank you. There will be more Haldir later in the story.
You are keeping me at the edge of my seat here. I'm eager to know what will happen next and I simply can't stop reading.
The tags say 'incest' and honestly, I'm not a fan of it. I'll be skippinng the incest part but the others i'll gorge down, gulp, swallow and devour!
Author's Response: I'm glad you're enjoying the story. As for the part you're not a fan of, it's a side storyline and the involved characters are OC's. I'd never write that storyline about Legolas or probably most canon characters; (I don't really like those stories either.) Anyway, thanks for the r and r.
sorry for my orrible english but i really would like to say you that i really really love your fic. thank you very much. i hope you'll continue
Aiii...I just can't wait to see Thranduil's reaction when he finally believes Legolas is alive...!!!
It was really nice to read a chapter from Thranduil's point of view, it's void place could be felt in the story and now that you have written this chapter it's much better I think...
I am personally looking forward to read more about the king since he's naturally the one who's suffering the most from the fate of his son, and I believe that you can turn out his steaming mass of emotions to a masterpiece with your unique pen if you put some effort on that part...but it's only my personal opinion ;-) the story is yours and it's already fantastic.
This chapter was great as the rest of them and I can't wait for more... :)
Author's Response: Hi, Mirkwood, thank you for your lovely review. I've definitely really wanted more Thranduil in this story, I've just had a hard time getting in his head. (Actually though, I've been playing around with a story about his early relationship with Thalielwen (his eventual Queen) near the end of the Second Age. And Oropher is in that one too. If it goes in a good direction, I might eventually post it.) Anyway, there are a few more Thranduil chapters coming. And I just posted the next one. Thanks again for the r and r...
I've been following this story for a while and I'm really sorry for not reviewing before now!
Anyway, I'm really enjoying all the plot lines of the different characters. Legolas and Mel seem so close to escape now but yet so far. I can't wait to see how Feredir and Thranduil react when they get the letter so please keep writing!
Author's Response: Thank you for reading and reviewing; all comments are always appreciated. I'll be posting the next chapter today. I hope you keep enjoying the story.
very much enjoying your story still, even if I do get slightly confused about who's who at times, what with it having been a while since I last read. Glad you have brought Saelbeth back into it; he and Leralonde are my favourites and I am enjoying following their, rather sad, story x
Author's Response: Thank you. I'm glad you're enjoying it. I love writing about Saelbeth and Leralonde too.
I was beginning to fear that I would be forced to finish your fic with my own stupid imagination!!!! I'm really happy that you finally decided to update :-) it was great as always.
Please show some mercy and update faster...
Author's Response: Thank you. The next chapter is a two-parter so I might post both parts at once.
Ah! Thank you for updating!
I read this story on AFF before, but your editing really pays off! The story line is somewhat smoother now and I feel like the characters have gotten more depth.
It is really unique here, how Legolas only grows stronger the longer he stays in Harad.
I hope there will be new chapters to continue the story and Elrond will be able to determine Benain´s parent?
I still hope for a great rescue party saving a griefing Legolas and bringing him before Thranduil to save both at the last minute, but that might just be the romantic in me talking. ^^
Your story hasn't left my mind since I read it...It's so powerful and disturbing ...please update faster!
Author's Response: Thank you. I'm always working on this story, but between my volunteer work, looking for a permanent, paying job, trying to get back to my own original novel (that I had abandoned for way too long), etc, it's sometimes hard to keep up. Anyway, I'll try not to let more than couple of weeks go by without updates.
Ya know I've seen this story a few places and I was never really interested in reading it until now. I finished both books in about 2 days and I'm soooooo hooked! I never knew how much I would take to a Legolas slave fic but I really love this story. Its so angsty I'm hoping and praying he somehow makes it back home and reunites with his family. Better yet I hope he decides to go home if given the opportunity. Keep it going :)
Author's Response: Thank you. I just saw your comment, I've been trying to keep this updated but somehow I had not seen your review. I'm glad you like the story.
Ah ha, I thought this little elf must be Legolas's child. I assume the one he was forced to deliver early in the last story and thinks is dead. Thank you for the character lust: it's huge! I think I'll have to keep a copy next to me as I read! :)
Author's Response: Thank you for the R and R, Merin. I hope you continue to enjoy the story. And there will be more of Benain later...
Whoever said Naledi and I read the same things??? Well, my story is the same and I have also read past this chapter.
Nice to see you posting here - I gave up on AFF and Mirrormere a few years ago!
Oh wow - it's great to see you here and still writing. I followed Faded Light for some time on AFF net, but them I lost sight of it. I'm so glad you're still writing. Although I've read these chapters it will be good to refresh my memory. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's story play out on here :-)
Author's Response: Thank you Naledi. I had a lot of trouble logging into either AFF or Mirrormere all last year, but I'm still writing. I'm in the process of writing the last seven chapters of Book II, so hopefully by the time I've reposted the rest, the last part will be ready.
